Daniele Romeo
PhD Student
I am from Reggio Calabria, one of the most beautiful cities you can find in Italy (and in the world!).
I am a PhD student from Swire Institute of Marine Biology - The University of Hong Kong, supervised by Dr Celia Schunter (more info here: https://www.schunterlab.com). I'm currently a external PhD student at MARE and the BEE Group in Portugal, where I'm carrying out the behavioural tests for my second chapter.
Since I was a child, the sea has been my passion. I spent every single day of my summer holidays with my dad, enjoying the amazing landscape that Calabria can offer.
I am super happy to have the possibility to study one of the most interesting aspects of underwater life: fish behaviour! I am currently working on cleaner fishes, and I am astonished by the complexity of their behaviour. Their ability to act in the best way in all the social interactions they have is a skill that I covet so much.
I love sports, playing soccer whenever I can. I enjoy hiking and the lunches that last more than three hours 😎🍝
